Maybe for video games this would be fine, though. The overall quality of these recordings, in my opinion, was "cheap" sounding. Second, I noticed that there seemed to be skilful use of gimmicky articulations (glissando, staccato, etc.) and layering, a lack of long legatos (which would make shortcomings immediately noticeable), and very little standalone soloing. First off, those compositions are using an expensive reverb (probably not the one supplied with the player), and that will fix an awful lot of weaknesses with samples. I listened to Kontakt's audio demos, and a couple things became clear. I've learned special techniques with EQ and reverb to tune the samples the way I'd like, and can get convincing orchestrations. Some of the strings aren't so hot, most notably the sections, but the solo instruments are excellent. I have East/West Symphonic Gold, and it's pretty darn good, plus you get woodwinds, horns, and percussion. It's not clear from Kontakt's site what articulations they offer.

I don't know how important this is to you, but you may not realize that there is also a tremolo articulation in that recording in the video that gives it some of its noteworthy character. Unfortunately, you're not going to get that quality of strings from a $200 library. I listened to the YouTube link you posted.
